To apply for a national visa, for a German passport, for birth and marriage registrations you need to book an appointment through our online appointment system. Please note the separate info on Schengen visas and visas for close family members of a person eligible for subsidiary protection.

For Schengen visas (short-term stays up to a maximum duration of 90 days, category C):

The process of receiving applications for Schengen visas has been outsourced to an external Service Provider (TLScontact). All applications for Schengen visas must therefore be submitted through TLScontact (not at the Embassy) upon prior appointment only. To book an appointment with TLScontact, please follow the link below:

TLScontact

You can find the address of TLScontact here.

It will not be possible to submit your application directly to the German Embassy in Kampala in case TLScontact has no more availability. Requests for expedited Schengen visa appointments will be handled by TLScontact depending on their availability.

Important notice for diplomatic and service/special passport holders: Ugandan and South-Sudanese diplomatic and service (Uganda)/special passport (South Sudan) holders can submit their applications directly at the Visa Section of the German Embassy. The respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs have been informed by the Embassy about the exact procedure and submission times.

For national visas for long-term stays (family reunification, study visas, au pair, employment, etc.; category D), German passports

Applications for national visas and German passports are to be submitted directly at the Embassy (15 Philipp Road, Kololo) upon prior appointment only. Please note that for most of our other consular services you are equally required to book an appointment beforehand.

You can find out whether you require an appointment or not by checking the specific descriptions in the service section.

Before booking your appointment, we kindly ask you to carefully study the information regarding the procedures provided on our website. Please make sure that you have or will have all the necessary documents at the time of your appointment. Please book a separate appointment for each applicant (also groups and children)!

Booking an appointment through our online system is free of charge! It is also possible to have a person of trust booking an appointment for you. Please notice that appointments for the aforementioned categories can only be booked via our online appointment system (not via phone or email).
