FAQ
Outsourcing the application acceptance process will reduce waiting times for appointments in the aforementioned application category. It will also free up capacity at the embassy to process higher numbers of applications.
Yes. TLScontact only accepts the applications, i.e., it checks the documents for completeness, records the biometric data and receives the visa fee (75 euros converted into Ugandan shillings). TLScontact then forwards the applications to the German Embassy in Kampala, where they are processed and decided upon.
The first step is to create an account on the Consular Service Portal (CSP). Then, complete the application form and upload the necessary documents. The CSP will indicate which documents are required. Next, pay the TLScontact service fee and upload proof of payment to the CSP. You can then submit your application to TLScontact to check that all necessary documents were uploaded. Depending on your submitted documents, TLScontact may request additional documents from you. Once your application is complete, you will be informed that you can make an appointment with TLScontact to submit your biometric data, original documents and pay the application fee.
After your appointment with TLScontact, your application will be forwarded to the embassy for processing. There, the application will be reviewed and a decision will be made. Your documents and passport will then be returned to TLScontact in a sealed envelope, after which TLScontact will contact you to pick up the envelope.
The address of the visa application center is as follows: Ground Floor Block A Victoria Courts, Old Kira Road, Bukoto, Kampala, Uganda
Visa applications can be submitted to TLScontact Monday through Friday (except on public holidays) between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. after booking an appointment in advance.
Yes. The service fee is 39 euros per application, converted into Ugandan shillings.
TLScontact also offers the following services for a fee: making photocopies and biometric photos, sending passports by courier, and informing applicants by text message when their passport is ready for collection.
Information on the additional services offered and how much they cost can be found on the TLScontact website.
If your usual place of residence is in Uganda or South Sudan, the German Embassy in Kampala is responsible for processing your national visa application. You can then submit your application for one of the above-mentioned application categories to TLScontact.
After reviewing the application documents submitted by TLScontact, it may be necessary in individual cases for the embassy to invite you to an interview at the embassy to check the plausibility of your application. You will be contacted by the embassy if necessary.
