Master's Program “International Media Studies” by Deutsche Welle (DW) Akademie

Since the launch of the Master's program in September 2009, more than 130 students from over 50 countries have been admitted to the program at DW Akademie, Deutsche Welle's international training centre in Bonn.

The bilingual program combines topics like media and development, journalism, communication sciences and media economics. It is aimed at developing both, academic expertise and practical skills that are important for professionals in the media field. The Master's program is run in cooperation with the University of Bonn and the Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. Successful graduates of the four-semester, full-time program receive the title “Master of Arts” (M.A.).

The course is targeted at young journalists, media managers and communication professionals from all around the world. Applicants need to have a Bachelor's or an equivalent degree. Furthermore, they are required to provide evidence of at least one year of professional experience in a media-related field after having completed their university education. Moreover, prospective students must provide evidence of language skills in both German and English.

Every year, 10 full scholarships are awarded to applicants from Africa, Asia, Latin America or Eastern Europe.

Robert Bosch Foundation

Robert Bosch Foundation Journalists are important partners for the Robert Bosch Stiftung in coverage of science issues and in the field of international relations. Therefore the Robert Bosch Stiftung provides continuing education for journalists in the form of seminars, information tours, meetings, and research and study residencies.
